Iko, Two Bedajas (Javanese court dancers), 1918-1924, (no image available).
Probably teak wood, dimensions unknown. Gift from the French-Dutch Association in Bandung (chaired by Mr. De Stuers—then resident of Preanger) as a Dutch-Indonesian souvenir to Georges Clemenceau (Prime Minister of France during WWI and the early years thereafter) who visited Java (presumably after 1920). Their current whereabouts are unknown, but they may still be in a collection in France. (Clemenceau died in 1929.) Source: Van Meurs, “Iko, de Soendasche beeldsnijder,” 101-102.
