Iko, before 1906, Shiva-statue, teak, size unknown.

Commissioned by C. den Hamer. This is a copy (in the back behind the table) of a statue from Semarang that is said to be in a damaged state in the museum in Batavia (now the National Museum of Jakarta). The teak wood was eventually cracked. The statue was then carved in stone. Source: Hilgers, “Een inlandsche kunstenaar,” 664. See also post 04.
