Iko, Court dancer, 1919, teak, 57 x 18 x 23 cm, private collection. Photo: Joop van Putten.

It is in a private collection and is signed as follows: “gatoetkatja dibikin olehiko 1919 maart.” This likely depicts a pose from one of the war dances (Helsdingen-Schoevers, Het Serimpi boek, 15). The dancer is holding a dance shawl, a sampur, which is associated with the Serimpis and Bedajas (Wassing-Visser, Woven Fabrics and Adat Costumes from Indonesia, 49).
