Iko, Portrait bust of a man, 1920-1924, presumably teak, dimensions unknown (no image available).

This concerns a commission from a planter’s wife in the Oosthoek (did Van Meurs mean eastern Java?). It concerns a portrait of her husband, based on three different portraits that served as models for Iko, after which he made a clay head, which he then used as a model for the wooden statue. A photo (number 6) in the article by Van Meurs shows Iko working on the wooden statue, with the clay model on the right of the photo. The result can be seen in photo number 7. It is unknown whether it still exists or where it is located. Source: Van Meurs, “Iko, de Soendasche beeldsnijder.” 104.
